800 Houses on Apuran Riverbank to Be Demolished

West Jakarta Administration will demolish 800 houses which located on Apuran riverbank, precisely at RW 01 and 07, Kedaung Kaliangke Urban Village, and RW 07 and 10, Kapuk Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub District. The demolition is intended to build an inspection road and also to normalize the river.

West Jakarta Secretary (Sekko), Syamsuddin Lologao, detailed that the houses to be demolished in Kedaung Kaliangke Urban Village are 500 buildings which occupied by 991 households who live at RT 02 and 05 RW 01 as well as RT 09, 13, 14 and 16 RW 07. While in Kapuk Urban Village, there are 300 houses at RT 04, 05 and 06 RW 07 as well as RT 04, 05, 08, 09 and 16 RW 10 which inhabited by 500 families.
“Based on temporary data, the houses to be demolished for the project of Apuran River normalization and inspection road construction are 800 houses,” he uttered, Thursday (12/4).
Bus Stop Demolished, Locals ComplainedThe project will be started next year with a length of 2.8 kilometers, starting from Genit Bridge on Jalan Pesing Poglar until Cengkareng Drain River. Trace total of this project reaches 40 meters that consist of 7.5 meters for inspection road and 25 meters for river’s wide.
For the success of this project, Lologao stated that his party has begun doing socialization to residents in both urban villages. They are expected to prepare themselves before their houses being demolished this month.
“With the normalization of Apuran River and inspection road construction, it would overcome flood and traffic problems in that area,” he said.
